Three days, two nights, one show field. Camp Friday and Saturday night, catch a movie in the park after dark, and spend Saturday on the field with every flavor of Volkswagen there is. This year the whole show wears the colors of our Legacy Award winner: metallic green, chrome, and the Wolfsburg crest.

Every year Justin and Jonmark walk the field and pick one car. Not a points sheet, not a vote — the car we can't stop thinking about. Win it and the following year's show is themed around your car: your ride on the show shirts, the flyers, the dash plaque, and this website. That's why we call it The People's Show. Every registered car is in the running. No extra entry, no extra fee.

The 2026 Legacy Award winner

The car the whole show is built around.

A metallic green 1955 Wolfsburg Edition Beetle — European-market, oval window, chrome and crest intact. It stopped people in their tracks all weekend, and it's the reason 2027 looks the way it does.

Meet the owner

Anthony Bell.

The man behind the green ’55 has been driving Volkswagens since 1983 — and he’d rather talk about the people than the trophies.

Anthony is from Spencer, Oklahoma, and his VW journey started in 1983. There has been a Volkswagen or two in his life ever since: a 1960 Double Cab, a 1962 15-window walk-through Bus, a 1968 Squareback. Today the garage holds a 1986 Doka and a 1986 Vanagon, both running Subaru conversions, a 1958 ragtop Beetle, and, of course, the 1955 Euro that won the Legacy Award.

He’s not one to list it all off. By his own account he’s had enough awards to last a lifetime, and he’d just as soon show up, park, and let the cars speak. What keeps him coming back is the community — the VW world has kept him involved with some of the best people he’s ever met.

The Top 25

No classes, no brackets — one field, every VW judged against the whole show. Twenty-five awards, all equal, from preserved-original to fully built. A first-car project can take one just as easily as a show queen.

Dry camping on site Friday and Saturday night, with a movie in the park after dark both nights. Restrooms on site, park grills provided — bring your own charcoal.
